Set in beautiful, rural, peaceful France, in a sunny and airy Atelier, Jeni Westcott can provide ceramic courses for you and your family.

In small groups of less than 5 at a time, you can learn slab building, coil work, sculpture,tube-lining and mould making and using, and cover all types of clay and glaze usage.  Also we can train in porcelain painting, and underglaze painting.

More importantly, you can work at your own speed and to your own artistic desires.

Teaching can be in English or French, and maybe you can practice your language skills at the same time as your artistic talents!

Public Courses

Running every Thursday Morning from 10 to 12 (barring pre-notified breaks) you can sign up for a 10 week period for 200 euros including all materials, firing of items and tools. Fresh coffee and biscuits provided.

Courses start March 26th 2009 and run up until 22nd of October. You may join at any time.

To visit for a one-off day trial will cost 22 euros.

 
 

Family or Group Days

If you and your family,or a group of friends or colleagues would like to spend a day being creative together, I can arrange a day for up to 5 people to create together, . The day would run from 10 am to 4pm, including coffee and biscuits and a home made lunch with wine. 

What could you do?

  • Decorate a tile each for a tile panel?
  • Make a set of bowls or plates?
  • Make a sculpture together?
  • Decorate a dinner service?
  • Make a family of quirky characters?

The items would be dried, fired and glazed and you can collect them later as a permanent memento of your day together.

Ceramic Holidays

For the complete French ceramic experience, book up for a week's stay in beautiful Deux-Sevres.

We have a choice of accommodation in a Chambres d'Hote, gites, or camping, all recommended and near to the Atelier.

The holidays include tuition for 6 days, lunch and wine at the Atelier, with a evening trip out  for a meal, and an afternoon visit to Poitiers or Angouleme.

The basic cost per person (excluding flights, transport and accommodation) is 400 euros.

We are well situated for Air travel -with Poitiers and Angouleme airport 30 mins away, Limoges and hour and a half away, and Bordeaux 2 hours away.

There are train connections to Paris, and the RN10 is 5 minutes away.

We can organise collection from an airport or daily from your accommodation.
